About
Felipe Artengo Rufino studied in the School of Architecture of Barcelona, finishing his studies in 1978. Since 1979 he works with José Maria Rodriguez-Pastrana Malagon, founds the architecture office with his first significant work, the Texaco fuel station in Tenerife and obtains the prize Manuel de Oraá in its first edition.
In February 2012, with the death of José Mª Rodríguez-Pastrana Malagon, Felipe Artengo Rufino becomes the AMP coordinator.
In recent years, AMP has won several national and international architecture awards, attending different exhibitions and conferences.
In 2006, the Tenerife Athletics Center in Tincer, completed in 2008, was selected for the exhibition "Onsite New Architecture in Spain" at MOMA NY, the work was made catalogue cover and the exhibition poster. This work won the regional prize Manuel Oraá in the 2007-2008 edition. At the Venice Biennale in 2010, AMP Architects presented the work "Infrastructure for l'leisure and balneazione" in the Italian pavilion.
Currently the architects AMP is involved in several international tender calls including proposals for a Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, and having recently won the proposal for "Government & Community Institute (Police Station, Civil Defense / Fire Department and Control Center And Command)
