Pedro Matos Gameiro has his own office since 1998. As coordinator architect he obtains, among others, the 1st prize in the Grandola’s Town Library and Archives international competition, in 2012; the 1st prize in the Alhandra’s Mortuary Houses competition, in 2005; the 1st prize in the Castanheira do Ribatejo sport pavilion international competition, in 2004; the 1st prize in the University of Coimbra Pharmacy Faculty new building international competition, in 2001; and the 3rd prize in the Giants Causeway visitors center, in Northern Ireland, an UIA / UNESCO international competition in 2005. He was also shortlisted for the 2010 architecture SECIL Prize edition with the Alhandra´s Mortuary houses project and for the 2013 Fernando Távora Prize. His work has been published and he has participated in conferences and exhibitions regarding his work, in Portugal, Spain, Belgium, the UK and South Korea. He had a position as an invited teacher at the University of Évora Architecture College between 2004 and 2012. He was appointed by the Architect’s College of Portugal for jury duty in international competitions and was member of the national jury in the Universities SECIL Prize 2011.
